Tom Waselchuk leads the MAMA Award-winning Americana band The Dang-Its and a new ensemble called Full Count Jazz Band. Tom has performed for more than twenty years (who’s counting?) in a free-swinging guitar duo with multi-instrumentalist Doug Brown. Doug has long been among the most in-demand freelance sidemen on the Madison music scene in a variety of genres, as well as being a band-leader, writer and arranger. Jodi Jean Amble made a major splash in the Chicago scene fronting her eponymous band—nominally jazz, but equally at home with, pop, country, and more—and as a member of the highly eclectic ensemble Jenny Dragon. She’s recently moved to Madison and is continuing to turn heads. When you hear her, you’ll know why.
The Honey Pies formed for the express purpose of performing a set of music at the 9th Annual Spring Green BeatleFest in September 2017. What was meant to be a one-time collaboration felt so comfortable that Tom, Jodi, and Doug decided to build on the experience, expand the repertoire, and perform at new venues. The trio is happy to reprise some of their selections from BeatleFest along with songs from Doug and Tom’s long-standing guitar duo and from Jodi Jean’s heralded solo career.
