The music program offerings at Liliana’s have been cut back to Friday and Saturday performances. Liliana’s has had a darned good run or presenting and supporting live music in Madison. Doug and I invite you to come out and hear one of our rare duet sets. We always love playing for our friends, and I know the restaurant would be happy if we brought in some guests. Their revamped menu is a winner.

 

Tom and Doug perform instrumental and improvisational treatments of standards from jazz, Gypsy swing, pop, folk, country and other genres. The repertoire is wide ranging—anything from Ellington to The Beatles, from Stephen Foster to Patsy Cline.

 

Doug Brown is highly skilled and widely respected multi-instrumentalist, band-leader, composer, and highly in-demand accompanist.  Tom’s background is equally diverse, ranging from jazz and pop to bluegrass and country. Together they have grown this duet for nearly twenty-fine years. Their music is elegant and energetic, and their musical “conversation” is one that can only be the result of such a long-standing partnership. It’s fun. It’s off-the-cuff. It’s a whimsical experiment one moment; a serious musical exploration the next. Its jazz and then some!
